Billie Eilish & Lana Del Rey Broke The Internet With Their Surprise Duet At Coachella, And Their Song Choice Will Melt Your Brain Big Time!

There was one big moment at Coachella that everyone was talking about, because the world wasn’t ready for a Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey surprise duet at the iconic festival. The two stars are really peas in a pod, and they wowed fans by singing not one, but two songs. Fans got a real treat as the pair opened up with Eilish’s mega hit “Ocean Eyes,” with Eilish singing the opening verse and then Del Rey singing a dreamy second verse.

You definitely don’t want to skip the two stars singing the chorus together either. Naturally, once Del Rey had a shot at Eilish’s song, then Eilish had to return the favor, right? The pair then launched into Del Rey’s “Video Games,” and Eilish had her chance to shine at 5:50 in the video, where she took lead vocal on a verse and really brought the house down.

Eilish dropped into Del Rey’s headlining Coachella set on April 12, 2024. Del Rey then uploaded the nine-minute duet to her YouTube channel, where it has already attracted 4.3 million views. The pair gushed about each other onstage, with Del Rey praising Eilish by saying, “That’s the voice of our generation, the voice of your generation.” Eilish returned the compliment by saying, “I’m so grateful she’s standing next to me right now, singing my favorite song of hers.”

Fans had plenty of praise for the two singers as well and added comments such as, “It’s magical how Billie’s song sounds like it would be a Lana song, and Lana’s song sounds like it would be a Billie song. They sound amazing in both!” and “Tears in my eyes. I felt it through the screen. Cannot even imagine what it was like to be there. It’s so majestic.” Eilish has done some memorable duets on “Ocean Eyes,” with another being her performance with Alicia Keys live on The Late Late Show.

Eilish did not have her own set at Coachella 2024, so she made her appearance at the festival just for her collab with Del Rey. This comes as no surprise, as the younger pop star has made it clear on multiple occasions how much of an influence Del Rey has had on her music.
After the show, Eilish wrote on her Instagram Story that singing live with Del Rey felt like “literally a hallucination.” She also said that “Ocean Eyes” took major influence from Del Rey, saying that “This song wouldn’t even exist without her.”
