Benson Boone scored a worldwide hit with his banger “Beautiful Things,” in no small part due to that huge hooky chorus. The thing is, when you write a chorus that big, not every artist can quite live up to it live. However, luckily for Boone fans, the American crooner can not only sing it live, but he stomps the studio version with his powerhouse live vocals. We got to enjoy hearing Boone do just that when he dropped into The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon shortly after the song’s release.
The Music Man has to say that Boone is no doubt one of the greatest talents to break out in recent years. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter delivers the whole package, effortlessly presenting a magnetic stage presence and the ability to knock his live vocals out of the park every night. We’re big fans of how he nails both the honeyed crooning in the verse as well as the high-range belting in that famous chorus hook.
The Tonight Show uploaded Boone’s “Beautiful Things” performance on April 11, 2024, and the video has since been viewed 2.4 million times. Fans ate it up and added comments such as “His vocals during chorus parts were so powerful. Even more powerful than the recorded ones. Praise!” and “Absolutely refreshing to hear a rock song with his own voice and no Auto-Tune… love this kid.”

Boone has scored a number of viral videos with his live performances in recent years. One of his more unique performances came when he dropped into South Korean agency Dingo Music’s Killing Voice segment, which normally features medleys from K-pop artists. Boone made the most of his Korean trip by performing a medley of six songs in six minutes, and The Music Man knows he doesn’t have to say that his vocals are out of this world here. The segment showcased Boone’s international appeal as it drew 1.7 million views.
Boone came out of the gates strong with his 2021 debut single “Ghost Town” and 2022 single “In the Stars,” which are both featured in the Killing Voice medley. The Washington-born singer proved his commercial appeal with these singles, as they went Platinum and double Platinum in the US, respectively. However, it wasn’t until 2024 that Boone would truly break commercially, with his global hit “Beautiful Things.” The single went five-times Platinum in the US and hit number one in 19 countries, cementing Boone as one of the biggest rising stars in American popular music.
