If you're a big fan of America's Got Talent, you'll be familiar with Angelica Hale's fantastic singing voice. But, if you didn't know that she was the runner up in season 12, you need to check her out.
Her talent is truly incredible and her drive to succeed is all the more astonishing, considering that she did not have the easiest start in life. When she stepped on to the stage as a 9 year old contestant on AGT season 12, no one expected the voice she produced, watch her audition below.
Angelica was born on the 31st of July 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father is Colin Hale, an American and her mother, Eva Bolando, is from the Philippines. She was her parents' first child; her sister Abigail was born in 2017 during her time competing on AGT.
When she was only four years old, Angelica became infected with severe bacterial pneumonia. She became extremely ill, going into septic shock and suffering multi-organ failure, which caused permanent scarring to her right lung.
It also severely damaged her kidneys, and Angelica had to undergo dialysis for a year and a half until she received a kidney from her mother.
It seems unbelievable that she appeared on America's got talent only five years after her initial illness and only four years after the ordeal of her organ transplant. Nevertheless, she impressed all the judges at her audition when.
She sang the Andra Day song Rise Up. She gave such an amazing performance in the judge cuts round that she received a golden buzzer and went straight through to the next stage. She sang beautifully in the live shows; some of the highlights were Without You by David Guetta feat.
Usher and Symphony by Zara Larsson and Clean Bandit. They were all exceptional performances, but some on Angelica's YouTube channel are every bit as beautiful, such as this cover of Adele's Easy On Me.
In the years since AGT, Angelica has continued to perform across America. Immediately after the show, she performed in Tuckahoe, New York, for 7000 people. She appeared at the AGT live shows in Las Vegas and also at an NFL game. Since then, she sang at Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, at multiple NFL games and accompanied Filipino boy band TNT Boys on a world tour. How many of us can say we achieved so much before we were fifteen?
Her social media channels have also boosted Angelica's worldwide popularity. Her Facebook page has a staggering 3.7 million subscribers, closely followed by her YouTube channel, which has 2.86 million subscribers and her Instagram page has 1.1 million followers. To have such a massive following at such a young age leaves you wondering what is next for this gifted young woman.
Angelica has released several singles and EPs on Spotify, but no album has arrived yet. Maybe she's saving a few things to do once she reaches sixteen! Due to her previous health issues, she is also a passionate campaigner and spokesperson for health organisations such as the National Kidney Foundation, the Sepsis Alliance and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. It seems natural after her own battles that she would support organisations dedicated to helping other sufferers. Angelica seems to have a great spirit and lots to say, so stay tuned!
