Exuberant School Choir Own The Britain’s Got Talent Stage With Joyful Performance

The school choir, Amasing, is part of a company based in Chester, UK, which organises events and projects based around singing and music. The company has seen numerous big achievements in the last few years, including receiving an invitation to have lunch with members of the Royal family, and continues to support young people’s mental health by encouraging them to get involved with the arts. Their most recent and most publicised achievement, however, is being invited to take part in Britain’s Got Talent.

Taking part in the show earlier in May, the children were having an end-of-term party when BGT judges Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli arrived to tell them they were going to take part in the programme. The children were literally screaming with delight at the news, with the choir’s musical director, Rachel, saying how much they loved the show and how they deserved a “special and exciting” opportunity like this. The choir then headed off to the BGT studio, where they prepared for their performance.

And when their time came to show the judges what they’d got, the choir certainly didn’t disappoint. Not only did they perform a song with a refreshingly positive message (“it’s about being you and expressing yourself,” said one of the children), but it was also a track the choir had composed themselves. On top of that, they delivered a joyous performance complete with enchanting vocals and choreography, proving to Simon and Bruno beyond doubt that their BGT invitation was well-deserved.

Another talented bunch of youngsters who have appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in the past is the five-piece dance group, the Five Star Boys, who auditioned for the show with an accomplished ballet performance that revealed they were in possession of talent well beyond their years. After further emotive dances to tracks such as David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’, they finished eleventh in the competition, no mean feat considering the boys were aged between 10 and 12 when they first auditioned for the show.

It’s always incredibly inspirational to see young people getting up onstage and expressing themselves through music, and Amasing’s Britain’s Got Talent performance was no exception. The fact that they gave a confident and entertaining performance is testament not only to their own talent, but also to the incredible work that Amasing does for mental health in the community. Let’s hope they are able to continue their fantastic work for many years to come.
