Train travellers at London’s St Pancras International were treated to an unexpected musical delight by Alicia Keys. The well-known nine-time Grammy Award winner and esteemed music producer treated the audience with her famous songs, notably “Empire State of Mind,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and “No One.”
Passers-by took videos of the surreal moment as the New York-born superstar put on an impromptu show to remember. She also introduced a new song of hers called “Lifeline,” a piece from the soundtrack of the upcoming movie “The Color Purple.” This surprise act by the New York-born musician celebrated the launch of “The Diary of Alicia Keys 20.”
This special publication commemorates her second record, a multi-platinum success that first graced the charts in 2003. Loads of footage was uploaded from Monday, December 11, showing a crowd of people surrounding Alicia Keys as she played Sir Elton John’s iconic piano at the station.

This surprise gig followed Alicia Keys’ performance at the “Jingle Bell Ball” hosted by Capital FM. The event was held at the London O2 Arena with an audience of over 20,000 fans – most unaware she would be playing later at the local train station. Adding to her achievements, “Hell’s Kitchen,” her new musical, is set to hit Broadway. This spring, it will debut, showcasing yet another facet of Alicia Keys’ incredible talents.
