Adam Levine had a heartbreaking decision on The Voice 2026 when he had to choose between two huge talents in Alexia Jayy and Moses G., but what John Legend did next made this an iconic battles moment!

Adam Levine was put between a rock and a hard place when he had to pick between the incredible talents of Alexia Jayy and Moses G. during The Voice 2026 battles. The pair sang the Commodores’ “Nightshift,” delivering epic run after vocal run. Competition frontrunner Alexia’s falsetto and belting were just to die for, while Moses’s smooth melodies had the judges grooving hard. Alexia’s soul power eventually won out against Moses, in a decision that Adam said was “impossible” to make.

Throughout the performance, John Legend had a certain look on his face like he might be cooking up something. This came to fruition at the end as Adam was comforting Moses, and John stole the 31-year-old Harlem talent. The Music Man has to say the satisfied look on John’s face at that moment was priceless. After so much tension was built up, it proved to be an emotional moment for Moses, who teared up and doubled over until he recovered and began a joyous celebration.

The Voice uploaded Alexia and Moses’s battle on March 17, 2026, where it hit 245,000 views. Viewers gave plenty of love, adding comments such as “Thank you John for saving Moses – he was amazing” and “I kinda forgot that this was team Adam. This seemed like a team Legend performance.” Other viewers noted that the duet sounded like an epic collaboration between artists rather than a talent show battle.

Moses kicked off his run on season 29 of The Voice on March 3. He auditioned on Rod Stewart’s “Forever Young.” The Harlem talent was really styling on the cover, taking the ‘80s pop ballad to a whole new place with raspy flavor and seriously soulful runs. There were a whole lot of soul and R&B auditions on The Voice this season, but Moses really stood out with his powerful and unique voice. This made Adam a believer, who was the sole coach to turn for Moses.

John made his admiration for Moses’ battle performance on “Nightshift” clear right from his opening comments. The R&B hitmaker told the Harlem singer: “I felt like that was a revelation for me today. Your voice has a vibe and an energy to it. I felt like your stage presence was very contagious. You just looked like a star up there. You really showed out son.” The Music Man is very keen to see what Moses can cook up next as part of Team Legend, as no doubt they’ll have plenty of chemistry working together.
