Guitarist AcousticTrench won the hearts of 9.3 million music lovers with his poignant performance of Coldplay’s “Paradise”, with a little help from his best girl Maple. Trench delivered a gorgeous, yearning performance, played solo on his nylon string guitar. But his pup Maple stole the show for many viewers. That moment when Maple lays her paw over her pal’s arm as he plays, too precious!
You can see the love and devotion shared between Maple and Trench coming through so strongly in the performance. Trench’s other dog Cherry also has some great cameo moments in the video. How blessed he is to share his jam times with two such admiring audience members! The Music Man has to give it up for Trench’s arrangement here – it truly sounds like paradise listening to what he did with this Coldplay classic.
Trench’s performance of “Paradise” with Maple is particularly poignant watching it now, as it turns out it was the last upload before Maple passed away. Viewers could see it was a special moment, and added comments such as “Those Disney movie-type puppy’s eyes are just mesmerizing. Rest in paradise, sweet Maple” and “I cry every time I come back to this. It’s amazing how much I miss a dog I’ve never met.”
AcousticTrench’s following upload was his acoustic performance of “What a Wonderful World,” which also featured Maple watching with a smile. He noted in the video description of this performance that “Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my best friend. Maple passed away peacefully during the night, while I held her in my arms.” Trench added that they had done everything together over the past 12 years after he adopted her from a rescue shelter.
AcousticTrench, Maple, and Cherry built up quite the community over the years, as the channel has 2.59 million subscribers on YouTube. Trench initially went viral on the platform back in 2012 for his solo acoustic fingerstyle performance of “Heart of Courage.” The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that he produced four viral performances by himself at this point. In 2015, Maple made her debut in an AcousticTrench video, where she “played drums” with the help of some creative shots and editing from Trench. From that point onwards, Maple starred in just about every single performance video that Trench uploaded, many of which hit seven or eight-figure view counts.
