U2 Played This Hit To A Packed Crowd At Madison Square Garden And Then One English Megastar Walked Onstage And Stole The Whole Show!

It turns out you better be careful who you invite onstage at your Madison Square Garden show, because this English rockstar stole the whole show from U2! The one and only Mick Jagger hit the stage to sing “Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” with the Irish legends, and the epic pairing totally tore the roof off the sold-out show. The Rolling Stones frontman instantly kicked the vibe into gear by hyping the crowd, then busting out some of his famous dance moves.

U2 singer Bono declared, “This man will make this a special song,” and he sure wasn’t fibbing. A then-66-year-old Jagger then took the opening lead vocal, and he did it like only Jagger can do it! The English star just completely made the song his own from the first line. The Music Man is proud to recommend this special performance to you, because it’s just beautiful to watch Jagger in full flight.

Next up Bono took the lead vocal, changing the vibe to a more delicate approach. After that, the big moment came when Bono and Jagger sang the chorus together, and it never sounded so good. Guitarist The Edge wasn’t gonna be left out of all this, and in the bridge, he sang a gorgeous falsetto lead vocal. The three legends then formed an all-star vocal trio to close out the performance.

The Music Man is also here to give some major props to the band, who provided a tasteful groove led by The Edge’s jangly guitar and a peppy beat from Larry Mullen Jr. You can for sure tell when collaborators are really in their element together. This was one of those moments as Bono and Jagger were vibing and just enjoying the moment of working together as friends. U2 had a big guest list that night as earlier they brought out Bruce Springsteen on “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”

U2 performed both songs as part of their nine-song setlist at the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concerts at Madison Square Garden. U2 performed on October 30, 2009, which was the second night of the two-night concert run.

The event was designed to showcase Hall of Fame inductees performing their own songs and the songs of other inductees. The organizers put on quite a big lineup, which also included Crosby, Stills and Nash, Metallica, Simon and Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Jeff Beck.
