Taj Farrant is a young Australian guitarist, who is just thirteen years old. Despite his young age, he proved himself through his mastery of the instrument, which enabled him to compete on Australia’s Got Talent, and perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He then began to gather the attention of the public and a large following.
He is popular for his covers, which are regularly uploaded on his YouTube channel – which has 273k subscribers. The young boy counts on the support of his family, as they encourage his passion for music. His most watched video is a cover of Tennessee Whiskey, specifically Chris Stapleton's version. The original song is in fact by David Allan Coe.
The video reached more than ten million views, an impressive number, leaving his audience wondering when he will work on his own music. The young Farrant delighted his fans by releasing his first original song, named Just Can’t Sleep. Also, he was recently on tour in the US, performing thirteen shows in nine states as a headliner. He performed his most popular covers as well as playing his own music. During some performances he was supported by a band, while for others he used backing tracks.
In 2019, he signed with Dorsey Productions Worldwide, and has since performed with internationally renowned artists such as Carlos Santana, Orianthi and Kiss. He also performed at the Human Nature fundraiser held in Las Vegas. Some quite impressive accomplishments for such a young guitarist. Taj Farrant is apparently working on his first album and will be touring again in the US and Australia during the autumn to promote it.
His passion for the instrument seemingly began when his father took him to an AC/DC concert. The little boy was extremely fascinated while watching Angus Young playing Shook Me All Night Long. That’s when he told his dad he wanted to do the same thing for the rest of his life.
Later, at the age of seven years old, he started to practice with the guitar. After two years, his father carried on giving him lessons. And the boy has never stopped practising ever since.
