K-pop superstar Rosé just won’t quit dropping viral live shows. Recently she rocked KBS Kpop, producing one of the most popular live sessions in the history of the show with a high-energy 50 million view performance. And the song? Of course, it was her smash hit collab with Bruno Mars “Apt.” This song was just made to play live, and Rosé always brings the vibes to every performance, making for a sure-fire whole crowd singalong at every show.
There are two things The Music Man loves about Rosé’s performances, which are that she always sings live, and how much her love for performing comes through every single time. It sure doesn’t hurt that she has a raft of solo bangers to drop either. This performance featured KBS regular Lee Young Ji rapping and singing Mars’ parts, and if you’re not familiar with her, she’s hella talented as well. Young Ji gave plenty of energy for Rosé to bounce off, adding to the hype vibe of the show.
Rosé dropped her KBS Kpop television appearance on November 29, 2024. KBS uploaded two versions of the same performance, shot from different camera angles, and together they drew 50 million views, making it the second most popular performance in the history of the show. Fans ate it up, and added comments such as “Rosé really suits the pop-rock genre, she’s like the Avril Lavigne of Korea. Her voice is perfect as a soloist” and “She’s dancing and jumping so energetically while also singing so stably live.”
Earlier this week, on April 22, 2025, Rosé made a surprise appearance to sing “Apt.” with Coldplay at the band’s show in Seoul. No pro-shot footage of the collab has emerged, but one of Rosé’s most popular sessions also has a Coldplay connection. She covered Coldplay’s hit “Viva La Vida” in a live studio session with guitarist Loren. The performance has an unrehearsed, spontaneous vibe to it, but there was some kind of magic in the room, as it proved to be a smash hit with fans, who tuned in 30 million times.
Rosé has long been a leading light in K-pop due to her role as main vocalist in South Korean girl group Blackpink. However, the release of her Bruno Mars collab single “Apt.” on October 18, 2024, turned her into an international solo superstar overnight.
The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that “Apt” spent 12 weeks on top of the Billboard Global 200, becoming the longest-running hit to top the chart in 2024. Six months after its release, the song remains a radio staple in the US and shows no signs of slowing down, as reported by Forbes on April 24, 2025.
