The Gallagher brothers have finally buried the hatchet and announced a sprawling Oasis world tour in 2025! Now is the perfect time to get hyped for the return of the biggest rock sensation of the 1990s by watching Liam Gallagher own the stage during his solo set at Reading & Leeds 2024. The legendary frontman rocked the joint with Oasis classic “Live Forever” during his headlining set on August 25, 2024.
There’s something about Oasis songs that just brings people together, and that was on full display at Reading & Leeds. The whole crowd sang as one with Gallagher on the iconic lines from the hit from Oasis’s debut album Definitely Maybe. Here at The Music Man we’re SO ready for the Oasis reunion, and Gallagher’s set of classics is 100% the best way to get warmed up for the boys’ return!
Gallagher gave the people what they wanted at the show, performing 16 Oasis songs, with the only other addition being the Beatles cover “I Am the Walrus,” which Oasis also covered back in the day. The set was packed full of songs from the band’s 1994 album Definitely Maybe, as Gallagher set out to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album with his solo sets throughout 2024.
Just two days after Gallagher’s appearance at Reading & Leeds, Oasis announced their reunion with an official Oasis 2025 teaser on YouTube. Rumours were circulating about a reunion even before the announcement, and Gallagher’s Definitely Maybe set at the festival was perfectly timed to build anticipation for the band’s return. There’s no doubt that Oasis are truly a force to be reckoned with live, as heard in their performance of “Champagne Supernova” at their iconic show at Knebworth in 1996.
The forthcoming Oasis tour is one of the most anticipated reunions in rock music and has been 15 years in the making. Liam Gallagher infamously lashed out at his brother Noel while wielding a guitar backstage in Paris on August 28, 2009. This was just the latest in clashes between the brothers during the Oasis years, and a fed-up Noel walked away from the band that night.
At the time, it seemed like the split was for good, and the brothers completely cut contact in the years since. They frequently traded barbs in the press and social media during those years, with Liam being particularly vocal about Noel on his Twitter account.
Here at The Music Man, we’re pleased to report the Gallagher brothers nonetheless reconciled recently, with some attributing this to the intervention of their 81-year-old mother Peggy. She reportedly asked Liam to mend ties with his brother for the sake of the family during a spa trip last year.
The financial benefits of a reunion are also staggering, with Birmingham City University estimating that the brothers will each make £50 million from the first 14 dates of the tour alone.
