Four-year-old dance sensation Miss Shirley took centre stage on her TV debut, and Jennifer Hudson just couldn’t keep up with her adorable viral line dance that melted hearts worldwide!

Four-year-old viral dance sensation Miss Shirley stole the whole show on the Jennifer Hudson Show! The Starkville, Mississippi, youngster, whose real name is LaR’iyah Jesireé, appeared on the show after going viral for her line dancing moves. As Miss Shirley told J.Hud, she saw the “Boots on the Ground” soul line dance on TikTok and learned it all by herself! Miss Shirley’s mother then said that her daughter had been dancing since she was a baby and is a self-taught dancing queen.

After the interview, Miss Shirley took to the stage with actress Niecy Nash and J.Hud and showed everyone her famous “Boots on the Ground” dance moves. Miss Shirley rocked the stage with her line dancing while wowing the crowd by synchronizing her fan moves to the beat. Miss Shirley naturally took center stage, while J.Hud tried to learn the moves, but she couldn’t keep up with the young master. The Music Man has to say that Miss Shirley’s dance might just be the cutest viral video we’ve seen in quite a while!

Viewers couldn’t get enough of Miss Shirley’s “Boots on the Ground” dance, and they tuned in 2.6 million times on YouTube. Viewers were very impressed, and added comments such as “This baby has more rhythm than I’ve had all of my 57 years. Just adorable and talented!” and “Just sitting here surfing the web and came across this little girl dancing. Thank you for putting a smile on my face Miss Shirley.”

While it’s her biggest hit yet, Miss Shirley has mastered more than “Boots on the Ground.” The young talent went viral again in April 2025 for her take on Mike Clark Jr.’s “Keep On Steppin.” Clark Jr. himself uploaded the video on his YouTube channel, and he appears in the video (on the far right) performing the dance with Miss Shirley and a couple of friends. Miss Shirley of course is the main event yet again, this time rocking a super cute camo and cowboy boots fit.

803Fresh released “Boots on the Ground” on December 20, 2024. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that choreographer Trè Little created the famous line dance steps for the song, which took off in a big way on TikTok. 803Fresh was clearly impressed by Miss Shirley’s take on the dance, as he invited her to star in the official film clip for “Boots on the Ground.” The clip went live on May 15, 2025, and features Miss Shirley dancing with 803Fresh and his fans at an outdoor line dance shindig.
