Virtuoso guitarist Marcin returns to music class after ten years and recreates the moment he first passed his exam with all his old classmates watching

After becoming a semifinalist on America’s Got Talent at just 18 years of age and gobsmacking his leagues of internet fans with mind-melting originals, covers, and duets, guitar virtuoso Marcin Patrzalek scored another viral moment last month when he went back to school in his Polish hometown and performed before his old classmates in the ultimate flex.

Marcin recreated the moment he took a guitar exam as his classmates watched on in pin-drop silence, with Marcin’s reinvented rendition of Paganini’s Caprice 24 and El Colibri soon taking YouTube by storm. Amassing more than 402,000 views within a mere eleven days of hitting the site, Music Man readers can watch Marcin’s performance unfold in the video below…

Like a true flashback to his pre-fame years, Marcin sits front and center in a music rehearsal room, his original classmates behind him in the exact same seating plan as when they were at school. A quick shot of teenage Marcin melts into the all-new rendition, leading one top commenter beneath this viral vid to realize, “The same friends, that’s CRAZY.”

But even this pales in comparison to what Marcin did next as he dares to attempt to play Paganini’s impossible piece on acoustic guitar. With his fingers dancing the frets like a jumping spider, Marcin shreds riffs from classical music as if he’s playing a speed metal solo, his acoustic guitar swerving the piece into the realms of Spanish/Latin music as his unbelievable skill unfolds.

Marcin broke into mainstream consciousness back in 2018 when he auditioned for the fourteenth season of America’s Got Talent with a game-changing medley of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony and “Toxicity” by System Of A Down, which saw the modern maestro show off the unique percussive fingerpicking style that would soon make him an internet star.

Eight years after reaching the AGT semifinals, Marcin now boasts 5 million TikTok followers, 4 million Instagram followers, 2 million YouTube subscribers, and more than 608,000 monthly listeners over on Spotify. He scored a record deal with Sony Masterworks, released his debut album, “Dragon in Harmony” in 2024, and a two-song EP, “Art of Guitar,” last year.

But when it comes to Marcin’s school reunion performance, fans are still staggered by the now 25-year-old’s talent. One viewer spoke for hundreds when they commented, “It all seems so effortless – it’s unbelievable. You can really tell the difference of ten years. Today, for one thing, the technique is much cleaner, and the musical idea comes across much more clearly. It’s not just a virtuoso piece, but a beautiful piece of music. A masterpiece.”
