Maithili was born on July 25th, 2000 in Benipatti, Madhubani, Bihar into a very musical family. Her father, Delhi Pt. Ramesh Thakur is a musician, and her mother, Bharti Thakur is a music teacher.

Maithili was trained to sing alongside her two brothers by their father in Hindustani classical music, Harmonium, and Tabla. With hard work, practice, and help from her parents Maithili has trained her vocals to the level they are today.

It wasn’t long before Maithili’s father noticed the potential she had. He quickly relocated the family to Dwarka near New Delhi to seek out better musical opportunities for his daughter.

Once in New Delhi, Maithili and her brothers studied at Bal Bhavan International School a Co-educational English Medium School.
