The Magical Voice Of Judy Garland

“I Don’t Care” is a 1905 song by Jean Lenox and Harry O. Sutton, famously performed by Eva Tanguay, earning her the nickname “The I Don’t Care Girl.” It gained popularity in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1909 and was recorded by Tanguay in 1922.

Judy Garland’s performance in the 1949 film In the Good Old Summertime made it a concert staple. The song has been recorded by various artists, including Mitzi Gaynor and Julie Andrews. It was used in a 1980s commercial for Visa fabric and covered by a young Britney Spears on Star Search in 1992. Below you can see Judy performing “I don’t care”.
