Jason Mraz Wooing Sara Bareilles On A Park Bench For The Waitress Musical Is Way Too Cute And Just Wait ‘til You See Their Chemistry Together

Who knew Jason Mraz was such a natural as a Broadway star? The folk-pop hitmaker dropped an adorable scene from the Waitress musical which featured him wooing Sara Bareilles on a park bench. Luckily for Mraz, he just happened to have a three-piece folk band handy when he came across Bareilles in the park, and he charmed her with the quirky tune “It Only Takes a Taste.” The pair had chemistry off the charts as they dueted on the number, and fans were just melting at the cute scene.

Bareilles wrote the music and lyrics for the tune, and showed off her sweet voice in the cheeky scene, along with her acting chops. Fans gave a range of opinions on Mraz’s acting chops, but one thing that couldn’t be denied was that his distinctive tenor sounded absolutely fantastic together with Bareilles’s mezzo-soprano. The Music Man readers will definitely want to tune into the final hook at the 2:30 mark where the pair sing an absolutely delectable harmony together.

The flirty park duet turned into the most popular scene from the Waitress musical, as it drew 4.3 million views on YouTube. Fans had plenty of time for the duo of Mraz and Bareilles, and added comments such as “Jason is underrated. The dude should be up there! Thank you for giving us beautiful melodies and lyrics” and “Jason is so animated here, I love it! They sound amazing together, and so natural!”

Bareilles and Mraz have dropped several popular performances together over the years. One of their most memorable moments came when they sang “Beautiful” together at the MusiCares Tribute to Carole King. This time around they got the whole squad on board, as Zac Brown and Raining Jane also joined the performance. In high school, Mraz was a member of his school drama club and played the starring roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Snoopy the Musical. After high school, he studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City for 18 months, with a plan of working on musicals. However, he subsequently moved away from musicals and instead established himself as a singer-songwriter after moving to San Diego in 1999.
