After a brief teaser from the superstar musician from Suffolk, UK, Ed Sheeran has released a new track called “Afterglow”. The singer said alongside his release, “Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you”. He also added, “It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy ! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x.”

Ed Sheeran also donated £10,000 to the hospital that cared for his grandmother who passed away in late November. The money was donated to the Aldeburgh Hospital League Of Friends to help the hospital to purchase musical instruments for dementia patients and those with special needs and audiovisual disabilities.
This isn’t the first donation the Suffolk superstar has made. This donation follows a £170,000 donation to his former school to provide key equipment for students.
In late 2019 Ed announced he would take a break from music to gain more experiences to write about. He said on Instagram, “The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over it’s time to go out and see more of the world. I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”
One year on from that announcement he has released the wintery single above called “Afterglow” which we’re sure will be a much needed surprise for his fans after the year we have all had.
