Chris Stapleton Proves His Musical Talent By Singing A Song He’s Never Heard Before In His Life

Ever wondered if it’s possible to play a song you’ve never heard in your life before straight off the bat? Well, a few months ago, country music icon Chris Stapleton proved that it is, taking to the stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live to improvise a melody for some seriously random lyrics that the TV show’s team had written for him. Chris took the lyrics and proceeded to create a beautiful country song out of thin air, leaving listeners shocked at his blatant musical talent.

Even country music haters were left in awe of the performance, with Chris showing that stunning melodies don’t need to be poured over for hours in order to sound good. In a hilarious twist, meanwhile, as the song went on it was gradually revealed that the lyrics Chris was singing were actually about ‘Full House’ star John Stamos, leaving the audience and thousands of viewers around the world in stitches as the laugh-out-loud lyrics were put to such a sweet tune.

Fans of both Chris and Jimmy Kimmel Live have, of course, taken to the video’s comments to show the musician the love he deserves. The video’s top comment, for instance, sees one viewer saying “he could probably make an awesome song out of reading the instructions for a port o potty,” whilst many other comments confirm that Chris is seen as a humble, down-to-earth guy who can make any song sound good.

Regular Jimmy Kimmel viewers, meanwhile, will know that Chris’ comic turn came as part of a segment of the show called ‘Wing It & Sing It’. Perhaps the most popular online video of this series featured US pop singer P!nk, who lent her powerhouse vocals to a series of hilarious fake confession lyrics, including how she once wet the bed in a mattress store and how she drinks ranch dressing straight out of the jar!

It’s fair to say, Music Man readers, that the Wing It & Sing It segment of Jimmy Kimmel Live really puts musicians to the test – both in terms of their improvisational abilities and their sense of humour. But if this is indeed the case, then both Chris Stapleton and P!nk passed the test with flying colours, proving that they’re not just brilliant performers but also that they are able to laugh at themselves and have a good time when the situation demands. Speaking for ourselves, we love them all the more for it.
