Now, meanwhile, YouTuber Bella Band is here to change that, having released a jazz-infused indie cover of the tune that is already set to go mega viral online.
Featuring Bella’s delicate vocals and harmonies, a flute part, and even a clarinet, the cover makes you seriously question everything you know about the original, and it suits the song so well you are left wondering if this is the style in which it should have originally been recorded. There is a further twist too – every single instrument that you hear being played on this cover is played by Bella herself, further adding to the jaw-dropping quality of this rework.
If you head over to the comments section of the video, you’ll see further evidence of the love this cover has already received. Many comments, for instance, are predicting that the video will soon go mega viral online and catapult Bella to fame; “this is how it feels to watch someone famous before they get famous,” said one overawed fan.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Bella has uploaded a cover of the song to YouTube with a dramatic twist on the genre of the original. In fact, just nine months ago, she uploaded thirty seconds of a very similar cover to the one in the first video, but with a slightly different arrangement and more of an overt bossa nova style.
Fans all over the world, however, have been delighted to see that Bella has now uploaded a full version of the cover – and when you hear it for yourself, you will understand why. It’s rare that a well-known song like “Supermassive Black Hole” can be transformed into a completely different genre and still sound good, but Bella has undoubtedly pulled it off with this particular cover.
